Nigerian Soldiers Arrest Top Boko Haram Man Looking Sick (See Photos)

Nigerian troops attached to Operation Lafiya Dole, code name for the military’s anti-terrorism drive, have arrested a suspected high-profile Boko Haram terrorist, Mohammed Zauro, at Sabon Gari in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.This was disclosed in a press statement signed by Colonel Sani Kusheka Usman, acting Director, Army Public Relations.

According to the statement, Zauro, looking sick, was identified and arrested with assistance from local vigilantes on routine checks while attempting to flee from Sambisa Forest.

He was heading to Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. Troops recovered from Zauro a mobile phone handset and a fake SAIE/JIBWIS identity card and a cash of N7,900.

Also arrested was Lawal Aboi, who was intercepted while going to surrender to troops because he had become tired of fighting for "no just cause".

Aboi (pictured right aboce) was arrested along Damboa-Bale Road. The statement added that Both he and Zauro are currently been investigated.
